All-ACCACC All-FreshmanFive-star recruit (#7 in 2025 class)

Background

Mikel Brown Jr. grew up in Orlando, Florida and attended DME Academy in Daytona Beach, where he earned five-star status as the No. 7 player in the 2025 recruiting class. He committed to Louisville and immediately became the Cardinals' franchise player. Brown was electric in his freshman campaign, posting 18.2 points and 4.7 assists per game before a lower back injury cut his season short at 21 games. Despite the limited sample, his combination of size (6'5"), speed, and playmaking vision at the point guard position kept him firmly in the lottery conversation.
