Big Board Rank: #91 · Day 2 Value
Zakee Wheatley emerged as a versatile defensive back for Penn State, transitioning from cornerback to safety during his sophomore season and never looking back. His instinctive play recognition and hard-hitting mentality made him a centerpiece of the Nittany Lions' secondary over three seasons as a starter. Wheatley combines solid athleticism with excellent football IQ, showing the ability to excel in both single-high and split-safety systems. While he lacks elite speed for the position, his anticipation and route-breaking ability more than compensate. His draft stock has steadily climbed after a dominant senior campaign where he led the Big Ten in interceptions and was a consistent difference-maker in big games.
